K.H.A.A. are delighted to announce our opening lecture of 2019.  It is on January 16th at 8 pm and is titled Cork Burning.The talk will be given by Michael Lenihan.   ‘A tale of arson, loot and murder’ was how one source described the events that would befall Cork city on the night of 11–12 December 1920. In a scene of almost unprecedented destruction, members of the British forces bent on revenge for the ambushes at Kilmichael and Dillon’s Cross set fire to both the commercial and the civic heart of the city. Book Launch The old village school. History of Kilmurry school  from1849 to 1955. On this Friday October 26th at 8pm in the Heritage room  at the Independence Museum Kilmurry.  The book is being launched by Michael Galvin . Parish Schools Exhibition Official opening  of the Schools exhibition on Saturday November 3rd at 2pm in the Independence Museum Kilmurry. Exhibition will run for every Sunday in November 2pm to 5pm.
